Russia attacks energy infrastructure in Zhytomyr Oblast

Russian forces conducted a missile strike on an energy infrastructure facility in the town of Korosten in Zhytomyr Oblast, Korosten mayor Volodymyr Moskalenko reported on Telegram in the morning of Dec. 16.

He said power in the town would probably be cut off as a result of the attack.

Points of Invincibility are functioning in the city, where people can charge their devices and warm up.

No other details of the strike have been revealed so far.

On the morning on Dec. 16, Russia launched a new wave of missile strikes on Ukraine. Air defense systems were activated in a number of regions, and power facilities were damaged in Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
