Russia hits private houses in Zhytomyr in rocket attack, casualties reported
Two people were killed and another 16 were injured as a result of rocket attacks by invading Russian troops on the city of Zhytomyr on March 1, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Facebook on March 2.
Twelve people were rescued, including six children rescued from the basements of the ruins of private houses. Rescue work is still underway.
Late on March 1, Russian invaders launched rocket attacks on residential buildings in Zhytomyr. According to the city’s mayor, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, a local hospital also came under fire.
March 2 is the seventh day of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine.
The second round of talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations on the Belarusian border is tentatively scheduled for today, March 2, but it is not known yet whether they will take place.
