The Russian army launched 68 missiles and 30 kamikaze drones at various targets in Ukraine over the week of Oct. 27 to Nov. 3, the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hromov reported during a press briefing on Nov. 3.

The Russian military is trying to actively conduct aerial reconnaissance using various types of drones in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively counteracting this with all available means, including modern electronic warfare systems. Notably, according to Hromov, on Oct. 31, an Orlan-10 UAV was intercepted in Kharkiv Oblast using an anti-drone rifle.

Due to the complicated logistical situation for Russian artillery units on the west bank of the Dnipro Rive in southern Ukraine, there has been an increase in the use of enemy tactical and army aviation, which performs its flights mainly from the temporarily occupied Crimea, the military stated. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine "downed" four enemy warplanes and nine helicopters during the week.

"Russian pilots are afraid to fly into the area of our air defense, so the number of enemy aircraft shot down is relatively small," noted Hromov.
