Russia used the neighboring state of Belarus as a launch pad for a large missile attack on Kyiv Oblast early in the morning of July 28, Ukraine’s military has said.

Out of 20 missiles launched by Russian forces from Belarusian territory, nine landed in a forest in Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine’s Operational Command North said in a Facebook post.

According to the message, some of the remaining missiles were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.

At least one missile struck local infrastructure in Kyiv Oblast, according to the head of the oblast’s regional administration, Oleksiy Kuleba.
