Dozens of Russian invaders are being killed daily in street battles in the town of Severodonetsk, Luhansk Regional Governor Serhiy Hayday said in a Telegram messenger post on June 16.
According to Hayday, fierce fighting in Severodonetsk continues, with the Russian invaders throwing all their reserves into their attempts to capture the town.
He said that control over the streets in Severodonetsk was constantly changing.
"The situation is quite precarious, but our defenders are holding the line and are fighting for every house," Hayday said.
"Sometimes a battle can really last all day for just one high-rise building."
The governor said that the Ukrainian military needs long-range artillery to push the Russian army back to a safe distance.
It is then that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to completely take control of the town, he added.
