60 people have been killed as a result of a Russian air strike on a school in Bilohorivka on May 7 according to early reports, the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai reported via Telegram messenger.

The attack occurred at 1637, and caused fires to break out in the school building, under which civilians were hiding in a bomb shelter, and spread over a 300 m area. The fires also damaged a nearby community center. It took about four hours to suppress the fire, after which the rescuers began to clear the rubble.

“Unfortunately, two dead bodies have been found,” Haidai said.

“30 people have been taken out from under the rubble, seven of whom were injured. Most likely, all the 60 people who remained under the debris died,” Haidai said.

The day before, Russian troops dropped an air bomb on a school in the village of Bilohorovka, Luhansk Oblast, not far from the city of Lysychansk. About 90 residents were hiding in there.

Pryvilia also came under enemy fire on May 7, when the invaders shot Grad multiple launch rocket systems at the village. As a result of the Russian attack, two children were killed; another two and a 69-year-old woman were seriously injured.
