Russian occupation authorities in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, have established a “military-patriotic” summer camp, Mariupol city council said in a Telegram message on Aug. 26.
At the camp, local children are taught to use firearms and are indoctrinated with vehement anti-Ukrainian propaganda, the council said in its message.
“The invaders continue to act by the Nazi playbooks,” the message said.
“Local collaborators effectively seek to turn Mariupol children into (members of a) Hitlerjugend. They opened an honest-to-God summer camp in nearby Melekino, where kids are taught to use guns and hate Ukraine.”
The Hitlerjugend or Hitler Youth was a youth organization set up by the Nazi Party in Germany in 1926. After 1936 and until 1945 it was the only boys’ youth organization permitted in Nazi Germany.
