Russia is planning to involve “the most trained military units of Belarus” in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ukraine’s General Staff wrote on Facebook on March 1.

The Belarusian units are massing along the border of Ukraine.

“Given that the enemy does not abandon the aspirations to achieve its goal, and its own offensive potential is almost run out, it plans to involve the most trained military units of the Republic of Belarus, which are completing their amassing along the state border of Ukraine,” reads the report.

Earlier the General Staff reported that Russian army, operational-tactical and special aviation was flying from the territory of Belarus to Ukraine, while Russian aircraft were conducting aerial reconnaissance of objects on the territory of Ukraine from the airspace of Belarus.

Late on Feb. 28, eyewitnesses in the Gomel region of Belarus spotted up to 20 helicopters heading toward Ukraine, and several aircraft.

On Feb. 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, including from the territory of Belarus.

Later, enemy troops entered the zone of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant from the territory of Belarus, followed by its capture.

The General Staff reported that shells had also been fired from the territory of Belarus toward Ukraine.

During negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko promised that missiles would not be launched and military equipment would not move from the territory of Belarus to Ukraine. They also agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russian one at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border near the Prypiat River.

The talks were held on Feb. 28, after which the delegations returned to the capital cities for consultations. At the same time, the bombardment of Ukrainian cities by Russian military continues.
