Russian occupation “authorities” are planning to restore previously-demolished monuments to Vladimir Lenin in occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, Mariupol mayoral adviser Petro Andriushchenko said in a Telegram post on Nov. 18.
According to the message, the Russians found two metal statues of Lenin at one of the scrapyards in the city. The monuments were removed several years ago during the country-wide decommunization program.
“Now the occupation government seeks to restore (the statues) to the spots they previously occupied,” said Andriushchenko.
