Russia is in the process of recruiting and vetting volunteers in Belarus to serve in new regiments of a private military company, Ukraine’s General Staff said in its daily briefing on April 8.

Moreover, Russian air and missiles strikes are still likely to be launched at military and civilian targets in Ukraine from Belarussian soil, the General Staff said.

According to the message, Belarus’ armed forces are engaged in a range of military exercises across the country’s proving grounds. At least four Battalion Tactical Groups (a Russian army combined-arms military formation, with 600-800 personnel) are tasked with patrolling the border with Ukraine.
