Russian troops have been shelling the town of Avdiyivka with Grad rocket launchers and tanks since the morning of April 30, the head of the local military administration Vitaliy Barabash said, according to public broadcaster Suspilne.
In the afternoon, the enemy launched an airstrike on the town center.
"Two multi-storey buildings collapsed," Barabash said.
“All three floors, down to the foundations. There is no information on victims yet.”
He said the Russian army shelled the old part of the town at night.
As of April 30, 1,782 people remain in Avdiyivka, including a 12-year-old boy, who is being searched for.
The residents are provided with food and other necessary products, the head of the military administration said.
Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Yuriy Syrotyuk said in an interview with Radio NV that Ukrainian resistance in the battles for Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Vuhledar had stalled Russia's winter offensive campaign.
