Residents were urged to stay in shelters.
Russia is shelling Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on a daily basis with multiple rocket launchers and artillery, as well as launching missile strikes.
Over the last month, the Russian army has been intensively shelling the residential areas of Nikopol.
Local residents have been urged urged to temporarily leave the city.
Marhanets is located directly across the banks of the Dnipro from Enerhodar, the location of the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Ukraine has been unable to strike back at Russia artillery on the occupied bank of the river, due to the Russians deployment of their heavy weaponry within the the territory of the nuclear plant itself.
