Russian troops shelled a high-rise building in Kostyantynivka, Donetsk Oblast, destroying one of the building's entrances, the head of Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, reported on Aug 6.
“Rescuers managed to get seven people out of it,” Kyrylenko said.
“Two were rescued from under the rubble and five more were taken out of blocked apartments.”
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of shelling.
Kyrylenko noted that most of the residents of the building had evacuated in a timely manner - otherwise the consequences could have been much worse.
The Ukrainian government declared a mandatory evacuation of Donetsk Oblast on Aug. 2.
