Enemy slowly advancing in fierce Battle of Bakhmut, MoD reports

The enemy has not given up its offensive attempts as the months-long fierce Battle of Bakhmut continues to rage, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on Telegram on April 21.
"Bakhmut remains the hottest place. The enemy makes it so. Fierce fighting is ongoing there. The enemy is attacking. It razes to the ground all buildings," the message reads.
The enemy has seen small successes, Malyar said.
"At the same time, our courageous defenders of Bakhmut are conducting both defensive and storming actions. The enemy suffers unreasonably high losses," she said.
The situation remains under Ukraine's forces' control, despite being difficult. All decisions are made by the military according to military necessity.
Russian forces continue to make creeping advances, the U.K. intelligence reported earlier.
The frontline goes through the center of the city mostly along the main railway line, they added.
The Ukrainian military is holding back the Russian attack in Bakhmut and inflicting severe losses on the enemy, Ukrainian Ground Forces Commander Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
