Russia strikes Avdiyivka with cluster munitions, missiles: one casualty, school destroyed

Russian troops fired three times at the town of Avdiyivka in Donetsk Oblast, on the morning of March 13, using cluster munitions, head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko reported on Telegram.
The Russian military also used artillery and launched an air strike on the premises of the Avdiyivka Coke Plant.
In the afternoon, the Russians launched two missile strikes at a school in Avdiyivka, killing a local resident, according to the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, who posted a photo of the destroyed school on Telegram.

In addition, according to the regional governor, on the Donetsk section of the front, the invading forces shelled Kurakhove and launched air strikes on Lastochkyne and Krasnohorivka of the Ocheretyne territorial community.
One person was wounded in Kostiantynivka as a result of attacks by Russian troops, while 12 private and four multi-storey buildings were damaged.

On the Lysychansk section of the front, a house in Zarichne in the Lyman community was destroyed, and houses in Siversk and other localities in the area were damaged.
The situation in Donetsk Oblast remains extremely difficult. The Ukrainian military is holding back the offensive of the Russian invasion forces near Bakhmut, stopping the enemy's attempts to advance further.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also remain in control of the strategic road from Bakhmut to Kostiantynivka.
