The occupation regime in the Russia-controlled areas of Zaporizhzhya Oblast are threatening the local population with the death penalty for participating in the resistance movement against Russian occupation, the head of the Zaporizhzhya regional administration, Olexandr Starukh, said in a Telegram post on June 18.
“Meanwhile, (Russian) occupiers continue their infighting for power and money.”
He added that the staunch Ukrainian resistance at Severodonetsk is preventing the Russians from advancing towards Zaporizhzhya itself.
“Should the enemy succeed in Donetsk or Luhansk regions, they will then shift towards other parts of Ukraine,” Starukh noted.
“We must unite and aid the Armed Forces of Ukraine in putting up a fight and eventually moving towards a counteroffensive.”
