Russian troops will try to complete the occupation of Donbas, and then try to occupy the Kyiv-controlled part of Zaporizhzhya Oblast, Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov of the Ukrainian General Staff announced at a briefing on Jan. 12.
"It is predicted that in the near future, the enemy will try to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk Oblast, and in the future may intensify its actions to capture the (east)-bank part of Zaporizhzhya Oblast," he said.
According to Hromov, the Russian military will continue to conduct air strikes on critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.
Earlier, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov stated that the next couple of months of the war would be crucial and decisive.
