Following the ongoing operational pause, Russia will likely resume its Donbas offensive towards Slovyansk, Siversk, and Bakhmut, in Donetsk Oblast, U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its July 14 report.

Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces launched an attack on Verkhnyokamyanske – approximately 8 km east of Siversk – but Ukrainian forces repelled Russian assaults in the area.

Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian assault on the Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant, Kodema, and Vershyna within a 20 km distance southeast of Bakhmut, the report said.

ISW assessed that Moscow has ordered another assault near Avdiivka, hoping to circumvent Ukrainian defenses in the area.

Ukrainian forces stopped Russian advances in Kamianka, approximately 6 km northeast of Avdiivka after Russian forces had been partially successful in the area earlier in the day, Ukraine’s General Staff said.
