The Russian military leadership made a decision to transfer additional units from Syria and Siberia to combat zones in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Oct. 4.

According to them, units of the Russian National Guard based within the administrative boundaries of the Siberian military district, as well as a contingent of Russian troops in Syria, will be redeployed to Ukraine.

The General Staff also reported that training in certain courses had been suspended at the military academy of aerospace defense in the city of Tver, due to a lack of teaching staff and technical specialists – presumably, because they have almost entirely been deployed to combat operations.
