Russian forces are trying to gain a foothold near Severodonetsk and achieve breakthroughs across Luhansk Oblast, head of the regional administration, Serhiy Hayday, said in a Telegram post on May 26.
On May 25, the invaders attempted to assault Nyrkovo, Ustynivka, and Lamyshevakha.
“Fierce fighting all across Luhansk region; AFU are expertly stalling the Russians,” said Hayday.
Russian troops also managed to figure out the location of a humanitarian aid distribution center and targeted it with artillery. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
In the last 24 hours, 11 residential high-rises and two industrial objects were damaged in Severodonetsk. Three civilians were killed in the region.
On May 25, Hayday said that Russians have reached the outskirts of Severodonetsk, which remains under constant shelling. According to him, the coming week will be decisive for the region. Ukraine maintains control over just 5% of Luhansk oblast.
