A Russian agent in Zakarpattia Oblast has been sentenced to seven years in prison, Ukraine’s SBU Security Service said in a Telegram post on July 19.
The agent was accused of supplying Russia’s Federal Security Service, or FSB, with sensitive information on Ukraine’s social and political affairs.
“The agent was uncovered in Zakarpattia (Oblast) by SBU in March,” the SBU says, adding that the individual in question, under the alias “Helen,” provided their handlers with information which was used to prepare a series of subversive acts and psychological operations in Ukraine.
