A steel plant in Mariupol has been heavily damaged by Russian forces, as shown by video of the attack posted on Facebook on March 19.

The factory, Azovstal - one of Ukraine’s largest metallurgical plants, owned by oligarch Rinat Akhmetov - is said to have been almost completely destroyed, according to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry.

“The battles for Azovstal are ongoing. In reality, as far as I am aware, I can say that we have lost this economic giant. It is one of the largest metallurgical plants in Europe and is actually being destroyed,” said Interior Minister Vadym Denisov, during an interview on Ukrainian TV.
