Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast kills 11, injures 13 overnight

Eleven people were killed and another 13 were injured in a Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast overnight on Aug. 10, the head of the oblast’s military administration Valentyn Reznichenko said in a Telegram messenger post.

He said that the Russian army had hit the Nikopol district twice using Grad rocket systems, deliberately targeting residential areas with a salvo of 80 rockets.

According to Reznichenko, the town of Marhanets and the Myrivske territorial community came under enemy fire. Ten people were killed and another 11 were injured in Marhanets. Of those injured, 10 people were hospitalized, including seven in serious condition.

Over 20 high-rise buildings, the administrative services center, the palace of culture, a dormitory, two schools, the city council building, and several administrative premises were damaged in the town.

A power line is down, and several thousand residents have been left without electricity. Energy crews are working at the scene.

The governor added that a woman had been killed in the village of Vyshetarasivka of the Myrivske territorial community. Her house was completely destroyed by an enemy shell. Also, a married couple was injured. A woman with injuries has been hospitalized, while her husband is being treated at home.

In addition, 11 private houses and gas pipelines were damaged in the village. Up to 1,000 people were left without gas.
