Lviv missile strike injures at least 34, including children, as search continues

The number of people injured in a Russian missile attack on Lviv has climbed to 34, regional governor Maksym Kozytskyy reported on Telegram on July 30, as rescue crews continued searching the rubble of a collapsed five-story apartment building.
15 people were hospitalized, including children.
As of 9:46 a.m., rescuers pulled nine more people from the rubble of the five-story building, Kozytskyy said, adding that most of them were hospitalized.
The number of injured currently stands at 31, including three children. Preliminary information indicated the oldest victim was 93 and the youngest was a 6-year-old boy, who was hospitalized with fractures to two limbs.
The search-and-rescue operation is ongoing, with as many as three more people believed to be trapped under the rubble.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said the search continued on Patona Street, where people remained trapped beneath the debris of the damaged apartment building.
Russia launched 22 missiles at Lviv, one of which struck a residential building. More than 20 residential buildings were damaged in the city, along with a school and two kindergartens.
Russia launched a combined missile and drone attack across Ukraine overnight into July 30, with explosions reported in Lviv.
In Kyiv, a ballistic missile strike sparked fires in two districts, killing one person.
In Kryvyi Rih, two children and four adults were killed when a missile struck the home of a large family. Explosions were also reported in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Dnipro, and other cities.
