Russia is unlikely to attempt to attack the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv again in the near future, but such a possibility can’t be ruled out, spokesperson for Ukraine's Defense Ministry, Oleksandr Motuzianyk, said on Ukrainian national television on June 10.
"We won the battle for Kyiv, and that means something," he said.
"As of today, the level of defense of the capital city has not been reduced,” he said.
“The city and its suburbs are being well fortified. We have several lines of defense. No one has given up and the defense is strengthening."
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on June 5that Kyiv remained the main target of the Russian invaders and was constantly under threat.
