Russian motorboats made attempts to approach the coastline of Odesa Oblast in order to land reconnaissance and sabotage parties, Vladislav Nazarov, an officer of the Operational Command South of Ukraine’s army, said via Telegram on March 26.
According to Nazarov’s message, Russian forces continue to scout the coast and waters of the Black Sea, and Odesa anti-air defenses are responding accordingly.
“The enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to land recon and sabotage units in Odesa oblast, and that was handily repelled,” Nazarov said.
“As of the morning of March 26, the situation is stable and under control.”
Odesa, one of Ukraine's biggest port cities, has yet to face a full-scale attack from invading Russian forces, but city residents and territorial defense forces have prepared the city for an amphibious assault.
