Invading Russian troops have captured Brazhkivka – a village near Izyum, in Kharkiv oblast – Ukraine’s General Staff said in the daily briefing on April 5.
“The enemy is attempting to mount an offensive towards Slovyansk (in Donetsk Oblast),” the message reads.
“(The Russians) were partially successful (in advancing) towards Barvinkove, where they pushed seven kilometers forward and captured Brazhkivka.”
One battalion tactical group of Russia’s 1st Tank Regiment also attempted an offensive towards Sulihivka, but the attack was unsuccessful, the General Staff reported.
Russian troops maintain their stranglehold around Kharkiv, and are continuing to shell the city’s residential areas and infrastructure, the General Staff said.
