Russian shelling of Kharkiv Oblast results in wounded and destruction

Russian troops fired on settlements in two districts of Kharkiv Oblast — Kupyansk and Kharkiv — on the morning of Feb. 20, regional governor Oleg Synehubov reported on Telegram.

According to him, a private house was destroyed in the village of Novoosynove as a result of the enemy attack. Preliminary reports indicate that there may be a woman trapped under the rubble. Rescuers are working at the scene.

In the village of Kurylivka, the buildings of an agricultural enterprise were damaged and a large-scale fire broke out.

Two civilians were injured in the village of Strilecha. A woman was hospitalized, while a man received medical aid on the spot.

On Feb. 19, the Russian military shelled 11 border settlements in Kupyansk, Chuhuyiv and Kharkiv districts.

In Kupyansk, a medical facility, a civilian industry facility, a nine-story residential building, private houses, a garage, outbuildings, and cemetery monuments were damaged.

In the village of Lyptsi, private houses were damaged, and two people were injured. In Vovchansk, a 45-year-old woman sustained shrapnel wounds.

On Feb. 6, Synegubov reported that Russian forces were amassing equipment on the Kupyansk axis.

Earlier, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Ukraine does not rule out a new Russian offensive in February, but that no strike forces had been detected at this stage.
