Invading Russian forces are preventing residents of the Beryslav and Kakhovka districts of Kherson Oblast from evacuating, the Operational Command Pivden (South) reported on Facebook on May 23.

It is noted that some villages in the oblast are in critical condition: every yard is damaged, there are casualties.

Humanitarian cargo, except for the Crimean direction, is not allowed to enter the oblast. However, there is very little help from there. People lack medicines, hygiene products and other essentials.

The Command said that cluster shelling in the village of Bilozerka had killed three people and wounded several others, as well as destroying 10 houses. The details of the incident are being clarified.

Meanwhile, Russian ships in the northwestern part of the Black Sea continue to blockade Ukrainian shipping and pose a threat of missile strikes. Storm weather has somewhat reduced the likelihood of any operations around Ukraine's Zmiinyi (Snake) Island and landing of troops, but the general situation does not rule them out completely.
