Over 1,000 buildings were damaged by invading Russian forces in the town of Irpin outside the capital city of Kyiv, the town's mayor, Oleksandr Markushyn, wrote on Facebook on April 15.
He added that 115 building had been completely destroyed, 698 significantly damaged and another 187 need partial repairs.
According to UNOSAT Damage Assessment Overview Map posted by Markushyn, 71% of the town's territory was damaged as a result of the temporary occupation by Russian troops.
"Based on imagery collected on March 31, 2022, analysts found that 1,060 structures sustained damage visible on the satellite imagery," the UN said.
"This includes four education facilities and three health facilities."
