The main efforts of the Russian invading forces in the Pivdennyi Buh axis on the southern warfront are focused on holding the occupied positions and preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops, Ukraine’s General Staff said in a Facebook post on Aug. 23.

According to the Ukrainian military, the invaders are also taking measures to replenish their losses.

The enemy carried out shelling from tanks and artillery of various types in the areas of settlements of Parutyne, Lymany, Lozove, Shevchenkove, Myrne, Ukrainka, Kyselivka, Potiomkyne, Shyroke, Ivanivka, Osokorivka, Dobrianka, Pryshyb, and Kvitneve.

In addition, the Russians launched air strikes near Trudoliubivka, Potiomkine and Andriyivka.

The General Staff added the Russians had actively involved an UAV in aerial reconnaissance.

Meanwhile, the enemy’s naval group in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas focuses its main efforts on blocking civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea and damaging military facilities and infrastructure elements deep in the territory of Ukraine.
