Russian forces in Ukraine are not withdrawing, but merely regrouping for further offensives, Jens Stoltenberg, NATO General Secretary, has said, the UK newspaper The Guardian reported on March 31.

According to Stoltenberg, NATO is not convinced that Russia is engaging in peace talks with Ukraine in good faith, since its military objectives remain the same.

On March 29, Russian defense ministry announced “a drastic reduction of combat operations” near Kyiv and Chernihiv.

However, after withdrawing some troops away from the capital, Russian military still maintains positions to the east and west of Kyiv, according to UK intelligence.
