Donetsk governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported that Russian shelling killed a family of three in Toretsk, a town in war-torn Donetsk Oblast on July 7.
A Russian missile hit a private house where a family of three lived. The daughter, mother, and grandmother died, Kyrylenko added.
Also in Toretsk, one of the Russian missiles fell near a social infrastructure facility but did not explode.
The official has called on all residents of the region to evacuate.
In recent days, Russia has significantly stepped up its shelling of populated areas in the Donetsk Oblast.
According to British intelligence, after the almost complete capture of neighboring Luhansk Oblast, Russian troops will try to take control of the cities of the region, in particular Slovyansk and Kramatorsk.
