Russian cruise missiles and rocket artillery struck a military base near Kyiv and regiments in Chernihiv Oblast, deputy Operational Command chief of Ukraine’s General Staff Oleksiy Hromov said during a press briefing on July 28.
“The enemy struck a military base in Lyutizh, Kyiv Oblast, with six Kalibr cruise missiles, at around 5.00 a.m.,” said Hromov.
“One building was destroyed, and two more were damaged. One missile was intercepted in mid-air over the Bucha Ravine.”
According to Hromov, the missiles were launched from the Black Sea.
At the same time, a Russian rocket artillery attack targeted Ukrainian positions in Honcharivsk, Chernihiv Oblast, with around 20 rockets being fired.
“They were launched from Zyabrivka in Belarus; there were casualties among (our) troops, further reports are expected soon,” Hromov said.
