The territory of the Zaporozhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine has been captured by Russian troops, the state nuclear energy company Energoatom reported on Marсh 4.

Both the administration building and the entrance to the plant are under the control of invading Russian forces.

This power plant is said to be the largest in continental Europe.

Plant personnel are continuing work to ensure the stable operation of the nuclear facility.

Radiation levels remain within natural background levels, Energoatom says, adding that casualties and injuries have been incurred by the Ukrainian defenders of the plant.
