Russian troops in the occupied town of Chaplynka, Kherson Oblast, are exerting ever greater pressure on local residents, looking for any signs on Ukrainian partisans in their ranks, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) said in a Telegram post on July 2.
In particular, a full sweep of private garages was conducted in Chaplynka on June 29. If the owners aren’t present, Russians use armored vehicles to bust the doors open.
“The searches are very thorough – even the ground in cellars is getting dug through, to find hidden stashes,” Ukrainian intelligence said.
An old pharmacy in the settlement is now used by the Russian occupiers as their own private medical station, according to the HUR.
“Medications are brought in from occupied Crimea; a ‘trusted’ person oversees the operation and bags cash every day,” HUR said.
Not content with stealing last year’s stored harvest, the invaders are taking all the freshly-harvested crops in Chaplynka as well, and deliver them to Crimea.
