A sabotage and reconnaissance group of invading Russian forces fired at a family with three children in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv, killing the adults and one girl, Kyiv Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Bondarenko wrote on Facebook on Feb. 26 – the third day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“(The girl’s) name was Polina. She studied in the 4th grade at school No. 24 in Kyiv. This morning (Feb. 26), a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group shot her and her parents on Telihy Street,” Bondarenko wrote.
He added that another of the children, a girl, was now in the intensive care unit of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 17, while the surviving boy of the family had been taken to Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialized Hospital.
