Russian forces have attacked residential areas of the city of Slovyansk, Donetsk Oblast, with multiple launch rocket systems-delivered cluster munitions, killing four and injuring seven people, Slovyansk Mayor Vadym Lyakh said in a Facebook video on July 2.
The attack struck single-family zoned residential areas, devoid of any legitimate military targets, according to Lyakh.
“90% of killed and wounded were out in the open,” Lykah said.
“Take note of this, and don’t go outside without a good reason.”
The mayor also urged Slovyansk residents to avoid crowds.
“Due to this (attack), humanitarian aid distribution is suspended – it was slated to start today; we’ll see if it becomes possible on Monday,” he said.
