Russian military service members are unsettled by the emerging technological gap between their and Ukrainian weapons, as can be heard in an audio intercept, published by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) on July 14.
“We’re simply being sent to a slaughter,” a Russian soldier says in a phone call with his wife.
“There’s no fairness here. You just march on forwards, and they (Ukrainians) are waiting for you… They are watching you… (They) sit around, drinking coffee. One press of a button – and you are under a shell barrage… We’ve lost a lot of tanks, a lot of equipment.”
At the same time, he complains about apparent poor accuracy of Russian counter-fire.
“Our brigade is dumb as a bag of bricks,” Russian soldier despairs.
“Our army, these dumbass commanders (send) people to die every single day. For no f***ing reason.”
