Significant numbers of Russian military service members, who were serving under short-term contracts, are resigning from the army, Ukraine’s General Staff said in a Facebook post on July 21.

Additionally, most also refuse to renew their expiring long-term contracts, according to the message.

The General Staff has also reported about Russian forces continuing their attempts to seize the Vuhlehirsk thermal power plant near Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast. Their latest assault was successfully repulsed by Ukrainian units.
