Russian Su-24 bomber crashes in Volgograd Oblast, both pilots dead

Two Russian Su-24 bomber pilots have been killed in a crash in Russia’s Volgograd Oblast, the Mash Telegram channel reported on September 13.
Reportedly, both the lead pilot and the navigator failed to eject in time after they encountered difficulty during a routine training exercise.
Russia has experienced significant aviation losses during non-combat incidents, including a Ka-52 helicopter crash on Sept. 1, and a Su-30 fighter jet crash in Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast on Aug. 12.
Non-combat aviation losses account for over 20% of total confirmed losses by the Russian Air Force since the start of the country’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Newsweek reported on Aug. 23.
