During their occupation of Kherson, Russian troops executed seven residents of the nearby village of Pravdyne, The New York Times reported on Nov. 29.

Local residents said that six of the seven victims were security guards, who came from another city to work in Pravdyne. One of them began to talk to a local teenage girl who was bullied by her stepfather, who later began to collaborate with occupying Russian forces. Later, the girl's stepfather concocted up with a story that the security guards were spying on the Russians.

In mid-April, a local resident heard an explosion at a neighboring house. As he approached it, he saw the bodies of six guards and the girl beneath the rubble. Several men had their hands tied behind their backs and were blindfolded, while the girl – according to the eyewitness report– looked as if she has been strangled.

“I am certain that they weren’t killed by the explosion,” a local resident said.

The man told the NYT that he asked Russian soldiers to allow him to bury the dead, but the request was granted only a month later.

Earlier, Ukraine’s National Police Chief, Ihor Klymenko, said that law enforcement officials have documented nearly 600 Russian war crimes, committed in areas of Kherson Oblast that spent months under Moscow’s occupation.
