Invading Russian forces on Oct. 15 began abducting children from the occupied town of Enerhodar to Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, calling it a “vacation” trip, the local mayor Dmytro Orlov said on the Telegram messenger.
“Despite the significant escalation of the situation at the front, in particular in the Kherson area, today the invaders and collaborators of Enerhodar are sending children to the Russian Federation,” he said.
The mayor noted the front line in the Kherson, and later in the Zaporizhzhya areas could be cut at any moment, while further intense battles would simply block all ways back.
“And we can only guess what is going through the minds of those parents who are prepared to part with their children during a full-scale war and are personally sending them not just into the unknown, but to a terrorist country,” Orlov added.
