Elsewhere, several houses were destroyed as a result of enemy shelling of the villages of Chervona Zorya and Odnorobivka in Bohodukhiv district. No civilians were injured in those attacks.

According to the head of the Kharkiv administration, residential and commercial buildings were damaged in Kupyansk.

A 49-year-old man was injured as a result of shelling in the village of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv Oblast on Jan. 28.

Russian forces regularly attack Kharkiv city and oblast since it was largely liberated by Ukrainian forces in a lightning counter-offensive over a few days in early September last year.

The front line in the north of the country now lies mostly in the western part of Luhansk Oblast – the Ukrainian oblast immediately to the east of Kharkiv Oblast.

The Russian military also frequently launches cross-border artillery attacks on Ukrainian towns and villages in the border zone with Russia in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts – the oblasts immediately to the west of Kharkiv Oblast in the north of Ukraine.
