3 people have been killed and another 12 injured due to an airstrike on the town of Novhorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv Oblast overnight, Chernihiv Governor Viacheslav Chaus reported on the Telegram messenger on May 12.

Multiple civilian infrastructure structures were impacted by the attack, Chaus added.

"These are schools,” the governor said.

“Other administrative buildings and private houses have also been damaged."

Medical and rescue teams are working on the scene.

Operational Command North stated that the attack was carried out by a Russian Su-30CM multirole fighter jet.
