Five people, including an 11-year-old child, have been injured as a result of a Russian shelling attack on the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko reported late on July 1 on Telegram.

According to him, Russian invaders first shelled the city with artillery in the morning, and then carried out an air strike in the afternoon.

Further details about the attacks are being clarified.

Bakhmut is the endpoint of the Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway, which serves as a crucial supply route for Ukrainian forces in the east.
