Russian invaders have placed rocket artillery between residential buildings on the Kinburn Spit to fire at Ukrainian positions and peaceful communities, Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces said on the national television on March 13.

According to her, the invaders understand that in this case they will not be hit by return fire.

“Today’s morning shelling, which took the lives of two people and injured two more on the territory of the Kutsurub community, including children, is another manifestation of terrorism by the enemy, as it is trying to hide behind the civilian population,” Humeniuk said.

“That is why (the enemy) stations its artillery on the Kinburn Spit amongst local residents, just in between yards, in order to complicate our work to respond.”

She added that despite such problems, Ukrainian military “still have their own means of influencing the enemy, so that they cannot bring in reinforcements.”
