Russian invaders have been using residential quarters in occupied Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast, to cover air defense equipment, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook on March 5.
“In the town of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast, the occupiers use the civilian population as a ‘human shield.’ In particular, in order to shoot down the means of destruction intended for the enemy’s military facilities, the invasion forces place their anti-aircraft weapons among the town's residential quarters,” it said.
The General Staff also noted that the enemy’s army is losing control over the so-called “Cossack battalions” on the battlefield.
In the Vuhledar area, the command of the Step/Tigr Cossack battalion is dissatisfied with the leadership of Russia’s Armed Forces and neglects interaction with units of the Russian invasion forces.
