Russia shells Kherson Oblast 80 times; 2 killed, 7 wounded in one day
Two people were killed and seven others wounded in Russian shelling of Kherson Oblast over the past day, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported on Telegram on Oct. 3.
Over the past day, the Russians carried out 80 attacks, firing 502 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad systems, and tanks, as well as bombs from aircraft and UAVs. The enemy fired 60 shells at Kherson city.
The Russian military hit residential areas of the region's settlements, churches, educational institutions, a humanitarian headquarters, a shopping mall, a car center and a factory. The Russians also hit a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson.
Since the liberation of the city of Kherson on Nov. 11 last year, the shelling of Kherson and the region has taken place almost daily. On Sept. 27, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had given a special order to the military in this area.
Four people were injured as a result of Russian shelling of Kherson, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin announced on Oct. 2. Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko noted that two police officers were among the wounded.
Later, Prokudin said that one policeman had died because his injuries were so severe, and he had died while on the operating table.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
