Russian invasion forces are turning hospitals in Luhansk Oblast, particular in Bilovodsk and Markivka, into military ones due to the high numbers of wounded Russian troops, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said in its morning report on Dec. 24.
About 100 wounded Russians were brought to the surgical department of the district hospital in temporarily occupied Starobilsk on Dec. 19, the report said.
Three days later, the Ukrainian military destroyed two enemy artillery systems with ammunition in Zaporizhzhya Oblast. More than 70 Russian soldiers were wounded in the strikes, and reports of the number killed are being verified.
Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks in the vicinities of ten settlements – Andriyivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Yampolivka, Rozdolivka, Bakhmutskyy, Bakhmut, Pivnichne, New York, Krasnohorivka, Vodyane, and Maryinka in Donetsk Oblast.
In the Volyn and Polissya areas in the north and west of Ukraine, the General Staff has not recorded signs of the formation of offensive groups. On the Siversk, Sloboda, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Novopavlivka sections of the front, the invaders shelled the vicinities of a number of settlements with various types of weapons. In the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson areas, they attacked more than 50 settlements with rockets and artillery.
In total, during the past day, the Russian army carried out three missile and ten air strikes, particularly on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk Oblast. The enemy also fired 62 rounds from anti-aircraft guns, as a result of which civilian objects in Kherson were damaged, and there were casualties among the civilian population.
During the day, Ukrainian warplanes struck 13 times at areas of concentration of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment, as well as at the positions of the enemy’s air defense system. Ukraine’s General Staff also confirmed the destruction of nine Russian drones of various types.
Units of missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked two command posts, two ammunition depots and 11 areas where enemy troops were concentrated.
